At Manaksia Steels Limited, we offer Galvanized Plain (GP) and Galvanized Corrugated (GC) steel products, each tailored to meet your specific needs. The steel sheet is coated with a uniform zinc-plated layer by controlling the amount of zinc coating. The raw materials in coil forms are Galvanized and properly leveled, granting final products superior formability.
To avoid white rust, which often forms on the surface of activated Zinc, a post-treatment is possible which involves applying a chemical solution to the zinc coating to enhance its corrosion resistance. The surface is coated with a chemicals — commonly known as passivation. With galvanization, a piece of industrial steel is expected to have a long lifespan often 25–30 years in average environment, due to its high resistance to rust and corrosion. It can last over 10–15 years with severe water exposure.
Hot-dip galvanized steel sheets are heat-affected during the subsequent galvanization stage, so they lose some of their normal workability compared to the normal hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel sheets. The surface layer is pure zinc, with excellent ductility. Between the base metal and the surface layer, are thin alloyed-layers of iron and zinc, but their structure and thickness are strictly regulated so that the zinc-plated layer does not peel off.
